Nano-optics studeis the interaction of light with nanostructures. For
subwavelength metallic structures, it is possible to excite surface plasmon
to enhance and to localize light.

Near-field distribution around the array of three pairs of silver
nanocylinders with a TM illumination. For an animation of near-field
distributions of different sizes of nanocylinders, click here.

The propagating velocity of light can be near to zero or larger then c by laser-atom interaction. Propagation of light in model atoms is simulated with semi-classical approach to study the dynamical behavior.
